Here are some tips to help you find the best acoustic guitar lessons for beginner students...
1. Acoustic guitar lessons for beginner students should be what they say... for beginners! Seriously, lessons don't have to be long and drawn out or hard to understand. Acoustic lessons for beginners should be laser focused on just the basics so that you will be able to start playing songs immediately. This helps to give you a sense of accomplishment.
2. Guitar lessons for beginners should start with 4 chords or less. This way everything stays easy and playable and you'll learn songs very quickly.
3. Learning to play songs that you don't like or that have no meaning for you can be very mechanical and boring. The best acoustic guitar lessons for beginner students should teach them to play their favorite songs! Learning a song that you love is very rewarding. So don't settle for anything less! Your teacher should be willing to work with you on this.
4. Learning to play the guitar should be a fun and rewarding experience so don't settle on any so called acoustic guitar lessons for beginner students that don't make it that way! The lessons should be simple, fun and easy to understand and should produce some immediate results (that is.....a song played by you!) in a very short period of time.
5. The best acoustic guitar lessons will offer online sound files so that you can actually listen to the chord sound and see if you are playing it correctly.
Did you know that you can actually learn how to easily play the acoustic guitar in just one weekend?

Easy Guitar Songs To Play On The Guitar
Music is the language of the soul, according to the old saying. It can speak to you and evoke certain feelings and emotions. Nearly everybody likes music of one type or another and many others want to learn to play an instrument, such as the guitar.
Playing the guitar is a great way to express your feelings and sentiments. It is also a way of expressing your artistic skill and entertaining yourself and others. That is why millions of people want to learn to play the guitar or improve their playing ability.
When someone plays the guitar, other people assume they have either had professional lessons or taught themselves. Whichever way you go about learning, it is important to use the right techniques to play the guitar properly rather than develop any bad habits which might be hard to get rid of later on.
One great way of learning to play the guitar is to use some simple guitar songs. This makes it easier to understand the tablatures and gets you more used to playing. If you can "sight read" a particular song, it will be easier to learn how to play the guitar. This all depends on your musical experience.
Some experts think guitarists can sing along with songs and then learn it on the guitar as they go. An interest in the type of music you want to play is also a great help because you will be more enthusiastic about it all.
Using easy guitar songs in order to learn how to play the guitar helps the beginner to learn the rhythm and pace of the song. If you listen to the song first or, better still, pick something you already know, you will have a good idea of how it is supposed to sound. With this knowledge, you can practice getting the note pattern and tempo right.
If you use simple guitar songs to teach yourself to play, you will help to tune your ear for music. When you know how to listen well, you will be able to know if you are playing the right note or if you have made a mistake. You will also know if your notes are slightly off key and if your guitar needs to be tuned up.
Using these easy guitar songs can make a huge difference in your ability to learn the guitar. It is, of course, much more difficult to learn the instrument if you are not able to have easy tools such as easy songs and a guitar. And remember - take your time because practice makes perfect!

In my book "Karaoke Krazy," I give advice on the many ways to be successful as a Karaoke DJ or "KJ." Here is an excerpt:
"Style"
If you are a KJ, your style is every bit as important as your reputation because it is PART of your reputation. It is what defines you.
There is a lot you can do to create a style of your own and it does not always involve how you speak on a microphone.
This section includes things about me, and things I have done to enhance my style.
You may get some ideas, or perhaps you have a style all of your own that you are happy with. Either way you might learn something.
"The Art of Illusion"
There is an art to creating an illusion in the room, one that will draw in and sustain a crowd. It is your job to provide an environment that did not exist prior to your arrival.
The way you dress, the music you play, and how well you work a room and motivate people, are integral parts of the whole. If you miss doing one of these things well, you may survive. However, if you miss more than one of these things, you may not.
What you wear sets the tone in the room. If you are in jeans and a T-shirt, your crowd will wear jeans and T-shirts too.
If you wear trendy clothes, tails, or pink gym shoes and a bow tie, you will set a better tone and people will respond to that. You will also inform people that you are an entertainer and they will prepare to be entertained.
My former manager, J.R., insisted that I always dress like a star. If I was getting off of a tour bus at a gas station, I was required to be picture perfect. His motto was, If you look like a star and act like a star, you are a star. He was right about this. People treat you like a star if you dress like one.
Obviously, if you are doing a private function you need to ask what the theme will be or what dress is required. You will look very out of place at a formal function if you are wearing a cowboy hat and jeans. Likewise, you will feel out of place if you are wearing tails and the guests are wearing cut-offs.
Another detail you might pay attention to is the lighting. I do not advise a lot of bright lights. The room needs ambiance and 'mood.' Bright lights make people want to hide.
Dimmed or diluted (ambient) lighting helps people to relax. It also makes people feel like they look younger (wrinkles are obscured) and this makes them feel better.
People who feel good about themselves are more likely to stick around all night.
Make sure all of the tables and chairs are neatly arranged. You may think this is not your job, and perhaps it isnt. But you want to do everything in your power to make the room as presentable and inviting as possible.
You will often see me pushing in bar stools. This is something J.R. taught me to do years ago. I detested doing it at first, but later I realized that an untidy room is a reflection on me.
Periodically during the evening, you should also help pick up empty beverage bottles and glasses. Not only does it look bad when these are sitting around, it slows the drinking process.
People are more likely to order another beverage if they are unaware of how many they have already consumed.
Remember that your job is to fill the cash drawer. This is why your club owner is having the promotion.
Do not worry if you are a KJ who goes solo and you are too busy to handle all of these extraneous jobs at once. You will gradually become comfortable and skilled enough to multi-task.
Regarding "in-between" music, keep the beats per minute above 120. Keeping the BPMs high will cause a subconscious assault on the central nervous system of your patrons, causing them to become more exited, more thirsty, and less bored.
To determine what the BPM's are in a particular song, use a stopwatch. Play the song and count the beats for one minute. If you count 112 BPMs, the song is no doubt a slow one.
If you can, flash the stage lights off and on during dance sets. This will produce another assault on the central nervous system.
If you happen to sustain a high level of BPMs with both in-between music and Karaoke songs, you may have to dump the dance floor.
Although it is rare (because there is almost always a barrage of slow Karaoke songs), there are times when you have an overly excited crowd. Good for you, you are doing your job!
However, it may become necessary to slow down, and calm down your patrons. Take the time to drop in a slow song and dump the fast dancers off of the dance floor. Fights can be avoided through use of this technique. People will also take this opportunity to order a drink.
Let me express that I am not advocating getting every individual in the bar as drunk as possible. However, there are reasons that your club owner owns this business, and you should know how to enhance it.

[NEW RELEASE] PUMA X SNKR FRKR BLAZE OF GLORY (BLACK BEAST)
Following on from the initial ‘Great White’ colorway released in April 2008, we can now reveal the stunning second version of the Sneaker Freaker X PUMA ‘Jirozame’ project. This new colorway of the PUMA Blaze of Glory flips the shoe to inky black, with a slash of vivid color that sets it off in all the right places. Highlights include sensual nubuck with turqoise sateen, silky laces, red chunks and poppin’ pink bits, all hooked up with the legendary smoke-tinted Trinomic cell unit in the sole of the shoe.
There’s also a choice of several beautifully designed insoles and multiple laces to complement the highly distinctive sneaker. “This thing looks evil!” says the editor and founder of Sneaker Freaker, Simon “Woody” Wood. “ And I love evil! It’s seriously the most comfortable shoe PUMA has ever made. Once you put this thing on you’ll never want to take it off. The Trinomic system was so far ahead of its time, you won’t believe your feet!” Be wary of its apparently docile nature, this one is lethal. And very, very black.
Here's a list of retailers below so find the one in your local area and bug them because as always, numbers are limited and you won't wanna miss out.

Key signatures are a theoretical approach to knowing what scales, chords and ideas you can play during a song without worrying about playing wrong notes. You can use the chords in a song to figure out what key it is in or if you are using regular notation you can simply look at how many sharps and flats or flats there are at the beginning of the clef. Key signatures can be major or minor and be any of the 12 notes of music, such as A minor or C major. Key signatures can give a certain feelings or moods to a song as well, much like major and minor chords.
Circle of Fifths
An easy way to figure out what key your playing in is to use the circle of fifths chart. At the beginning of a sheet of notation music there are a group of sharps or flats. The lines these symbols are on affects the notes on that line for the duration of the song or until the key changes again. To use the circle of fifths chart you can just count how many sharps or flats there are on the staff and compare it to the chart. If your music has 1 sharp, it is F major. Make sure if there are sharps, you use the right side of the chart, since the left side is for flats. If there are 3 flats, the key is Eb major. The numbers inside the circle correspond to the number of sharps (right side numbers) and the number of flats (left side numbers). There are a lot of different style of the circle of fifths charts so make sure you know what chart your looking at and know what everything means.
Keys and Chords
You can also tell what key you're in by studying the chords you're playing. When you're playing just power chords using the root, 5th and 8th notes, you can judge by the root notes of the chords what key you're in. For example, using the chords C5, D5, G5 you could be in the key of Gmaj OR Cmaj since both keys contain the notes C, D, and G. To really narrow down the key you're in, you have to use chords that contain more notes. If you add in the 3rd to each chord it only leaves the key of Gmaj because the third of Dmaj is an F#, which doesn't exist in the key of Cmaj. This shows why keys are important. If you're playing these three chords, C, D, and G, you could maybe get away with playing a Cmaj scale for the melody by leaving out some notes, but it would be more to your advantage to use all the notes of the Gmaj scale.
Learn To Sing Correctly - Every Time
Kids tend to find singing very amusing and never miss a chance to show off their singing talent. For some kids, the desire to sing does not wear off by getting older. In some cases, it grows even stronger and it becomes a passion they wish to pursue as adults. In this case, singing becomes a bit more challenging. It's one thing to make singing mistakes as a kid and quite different to become embarrassed in a karaoke contest. In fact, many people give up singing as adults, simply because they are afraid of the harsh criticism they may get.
If you can identify with the above situation, you'll certainly be glad to know that you can, in fact, learn how to sing properly, every time. Sure, good genes are factor if you want to become a star, but anyone can learn how to sing impressively well if they devote the time and energy required to master the technique. Hence, the most important step you need to take, is to decide if you are really determined to learn how to sing and everything else will follow with studying and practice.
You will have noticed that the word "studying" was mentioned in the above paragraph, along with practice. You see, in order to sing properly, you definitely need to learn some of the principles of voice production. Singing is a highly physical activity and professional singers know that. That's why they seem to be singing with their entire body rather than just their vocal chords. Pro singers can manipulate three types of singing voices, which are usually common to all people. The chest voice, the middle voice and the head voice.
The chest voice is the voice you use when you speak. With this voice, you can create a rich, full-bodies sound. The head voice is usually used for higher pitched notes, most frequently by female vocal artists. The middle voice acts somewhat like a bridge between the chest voice and the head voice. You can think of these different singing voices as the ABC of singing. Only after you've studied and learned your ABC does it make sense to practice. And if you practice with some solid guidelines in mind, be sure that you can learn how to sing correctly, every time!

Learning to play an instrument can be very rewarding and satisfying. The only real problem is what musical instrument to learn as there are so many available.
Learning an instrument is a fun personal challenge. The ultimate satisfaction is mastering a piece of music is the accomplishment of finishing, in some peoples eyes. The joy and satisfaction of being able to play a piece proficiently and thoughtful helps create the feeling of accomplishment.
But where to start with learning to play the piano. Actually playing the piano can be quite easy. The tone of the note only comes from pressing a key on a string. Most pianos contain 88 keys, separated between black and white. Piano keys are generally made by Ebony and Ivory, and the harder the player presses the key the louder the sound. The volume can also be controlled by two pedals found on most pianos. The right hand piano pedal is called the sustain pedal. When pressed simultaneously with a note, the sound created resonates and remains when the finger is removed from the key. This happens because inside the piano the dampers on the strings are removed when the pedal is pressed down thus meaning that the string will continue to resonate resulting in the sound continuing.
The sustain pedal can also be used to help create feeling and atmosphere. Often the pedal is used in quiet parts of the piece to help create this atmosphere, so please don't think that the sustain pedal is only used when playing loudly. Use of the sustain pedal is a skill that all pianists will gain through regular practice. Over use of the pedal will effect the performance considerably.
The other pedal is sometimes used but more often than not, as much as the right pedal. This other pedal is used to help control the volume, helping to create a much quieter sound. For this to happen with the use of the pedal, when it is pressed down, the hammers inside the piano that strike the strings only strike one of the 2 or 3 strings inside the piano. The theory is, 1 string resonating is going to be quieter than 2 or 3 strings resonating. This said, pianists shouldn't use the left pedal for soft playing and the right pedal for loud playing. You can still play quietly with the right pedal and loudly with the left pedal. For the ability of controlling volume you can not get better than your fingers which strike the note in the first place.
Learning to play the piano at home can be beneficial, however it, like any other self teaching method, will require an amount of perseverance. There are many resources available on the internet for those people who want to learn how to play the piano. I would suggest the below link as a good enough place to start. The main reason being is that this is written by a classically trained pianist and provides more than one suggested resource for learning the piano online. The resources also give other good pianist techniques such as improvisation, chords, sight reading, playing by ear etc. These are skills that all musicians should aim to perfect as well as their own instrument.
Chris Gilmour, a classically trained conservatoire pianist and teacher who recommends http://www.pianoplayingtips.info
History of the Bass Guitar
As far as instruments go, the bass guitar is one of the newest on the scene. It's a completely original component of today's bands and modern music and has not even been in existence for a century. Don't let the name "bass guitar" fool you either, the bass guitar is not actually derived from the guitar.
While electrical guitars were developed from acoustic guitars, bass guitars were developed from the double bass instrument. They were originally known (and are still sometimes called) electrical bass instruments or the electric bass.
The original double bass, or simply the bass, are the massive, classical instruments that have been around for several hundred years. They are played with the instrument resting on the ground, using a bow across the strings.
The bass guitar is of course held with a strap on a musician's body and is played using one's fingers. As opposed to the back and forth of the bow on its predecessor and the strumming with a pick of an electrical guitar, the bass guitar is typically played with either plucking or slapping movements of the fingers.
The bass guitar is tuned to sound the same as an original bass with of course the added benefit of being able to be amplified. In the early part of the 20th century, as music was getting louder, the bass was being drowned out and was unable to be heard. And so the quest for an electrical bass began.
Leo Fender and the Creation of the Bass Guitar
Leo Fender was an amazing man, a visionary and is one of the single most influential people in modern music history. All of these things and many more is Leo Fender. However, one thing he is not is the inventor of the bass guitar.
In 1935, it was Paul Tutmarc who developed the first incarnation of the electric bass. It was to be played horizontally and held like a guitar and could be plugged in for amplification. However, his instrument never truly caught on. It was in 1951 that the bass began earning its spot in modern music.
Leo Fender created his Fender Precision Bass, which was mass produced and skyrocketed in popularity. Gibson followed shortly there after and the bass guitar became an important component of jazz ensembles and today, nearly all musical styles and bands.
Just as with the electric guitar, Leo Fender capitalized on previous inventions, tweaked them to his own specifications and mass produced them to extreme success. While he should be remembered fondly for his contributions, let's not forget the original inventor of the electric bass, Paul Tutmarc.
Jay Villaverde is the owner of http://www.VintageGuitarShop.net A site dedicated to preserving the beauty and sound of vintage acoustic, electric and bass guitars. He offers great deals on vintage guitars from Gibson and Fender plus many other manufacturers. If you love music and love the guitar, this is a must see site.

So, you're looking for online guitar lessons. Or maybe you're just starting to learn how to play guitar. Because you want to learn to play the guitar.
Now, where will you start?
And, still more important, what do you want to achieve?
That must be your first decision, as depending on your goals, there must seek for different types of online guitar lessons, and there are different ways to approach them.
- Do you just want to strum the chords a song when you're hanging out with your friends?
You will need to learn any more than basic chords and some strumming patterns.
- Do you want, perhaps, to play some simple charming melodies you always likes?
You will need to learn how to read guitar tabs, and choose and learn your plucking style.
- Do you want to play a better style, but just for yourself?
Then you will need to learn how to read guitar notes and guitar sheet music, and learn some more elaborated fingerstyle skills.
- Do you want to play the music you love most, and play it like a pro?
Here's where you'll get the most joy out of your guitar playing. You'll need more advanced knowledge on sheet music reading, and top guitar playing techniques. And much, much more practice. A lot of daily practice. But I grant you that you'll never regret it.
Now, it would be quite good to have your interests very clear from the beginning, but, if you dont yet have it clear, here's my recommendation:
- Start learning how to read a tab, practice some easy fingerstyle exercises and then move, slowly, to some easy tunes. Thus, you'll gain some control over the instrument, and you will also develop some skills with your left and right hands.
- At the same time, you can learn (guitar tabs reading will help a lot) some basic guitar chords, and some simple strumming patterns. That will nicely complement your fingerstyle skills.
- Then you'll move to sheet music reading and more rewarding guitar playing techniques.
- Finally, you'll have to climb to the top performing skills.
All steps require a lot of practice. Believe me, there's no shortcut here.
Besides, not all step goals can be achieved without the coaching of a guitar teacher.
But don't despair. Finally, it won't be so hard!

So you want to play guitar? Guitar lessons, in some form or another, are a necessity for anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar. Established players also rely on guitar lessons to acquire new skills and move up to the next level. Finding the right lesson, course, or product sounds simple, but there are so many choices available that its a tough task to figure out whats best for your individual needs. These guidelines will help you sort through your options and make a good decision.
Guitar Lessons- Private Instructor or Online?
The traditional way of learning guitar is by taking private lessons from a guitar teacher. The student typically meets with the instructor once a week for 30 minutes at a cost of about $15-25 per week. This is certainly a great option, and perhaps the best way to learn to play: under the personal guidance of a dedicated teacher. However, in many cases private lessons are not a good option due to the time, cost, and transportation factors involved.
The good news for guitar players is that there is a wide range of alternatives to private instruction. Guitar lesson and instructional books have been a mainstay for years. Technology developments then brought us lessons in the form of videotapes and DVDs, as well as multimedia software programs to run on the PC.
Today, widespread access to the internet has caused a major revolution in guitar instruction methods and availability. Now an abundance (some might say over-abundance!) of information on various guitar lesson choices is available in minutes through your favorite search engine. The array of choices is staggering, ranging from free online guitar lessons, to high-end distance learning guitar instruction leading to a certificate from Berklee College of Music,
Aside from better visibility into the options, there have also been tremendous advances in the technology used to develop and deliver the instructional material. Interactive video lessons in which the student controls the pace of learning and the tempo of the material are a good example of this. Online guitar lessons and products can be accessed immediately on the Web, either on-demand or downloaded to the local PC. This gives great flexibility on when and where to learn.
Guitar Lessons Options
Aside from private lessons, there are three basic formats of guitar lessons and instructional material.
Books- If youre on a budget and like the idea of the portability of a book, this may be the way to go for you. Books often come with a CD to provide audio tracks. Typical Cost: $15-25
Video-based lessons- In my experience, pure video-based lessons are a good icing on the cake to help you learn, but not typically a good foundational guitar lesson program. They often lack supporting learning materials needed to be effective for baseline learning.
Multimedia Online Lessons- The Web, plus advances in the technology for creating learning material such as video, has really opened the door to some great multimedia guitar lesson programs.. These can be delivered and accessed on several ways: downloaded for use on your PC; accessed directly from your PC with a live web connection, or as a physical CD/DVD that you run on your PC.
Sorting through the many options can be made easier with information dedicated to this topic on various guitar websites, such as this online guitar lessons guide.
Wrap-up
For those wanting to learn to play guitar, or to play better, there is no better time than now to take advantage to the available online guitar lesson and learning options. The realm of guitar instruction is certainly one that has benefited from the Internet!

Electric Ladyland (released in October 1968) is widely considered The Jimi Hendrix Experience's crowning achievement and focuses attention on Hendrix's abilities as singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. This stunning collection provides the earliest insight into Hendrix's "Sky Church" concept with featured guest appearances by Steve Winwood, Jack Casady, Al Kooper, Chris Wood, and Buddy Miles.
The first time I picked up this album, I knew it was something very special. It really conveys all the different nuances of the Hendrix style. Firstly, the soulful "Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland)", is a great example of Jimi at his thoughtful best with his guitar sounding very mellow. However, this soon is overtaken by the still soulful but rougher-edged sounds of "Crosstown Traffic". This song is about a girl who is hard to get rid of. Getting through to her that she's not wanted is like getting through crosstown traffic. Again, the guitar riffs here are smooth and soulful, displaying Hendrix's unique ability to be tender with a rough-edge at the same time.
"Voodoo Chile" (and the reprise "Voodoo Child - Slight Return") is an epic, what can I say? It is 15 minutes of blues-drenched Jimi at his best. While the track sounds like a live recording, the crowd noise was actually recorded afterwards. Some twenty people were brought to the studio to record appropriate background noise. Nevertheless, the audience sounds are very well integrated into the track. "Little Miss Strange" and "Long Hot Summer Night" are interesting tracks, the first sounding like a typical 1960s pop song, and the second sounding again, a bit rougher-edged.
Then come my favourite tracks on the album, the old Earl King track "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)" where Jimi shows off his best guitar work. This is bluesy and quite over the top as Jimi just attacks his guitar in a real rock n'roll style. Another favourite is "Gypsy Eyes" which has a sizzling, aggressive guitar sound. Fantastic! "The Burning of the Midnight Lamp" follows which has a much more mellow sound. The song's lyrics are about the loss of relationship. Scenes of loneliness are described with attention to detail, including seeing an earring left behind and how it reminds him of his current loneliness. Whether due to the personal lyrics or unique instrumentation and sound, Hendrix was particularly proud of this song. His attachment is evidenced by the decision to include it on Electric Ladyland over a year after first releasing it.
"Rainy Day, Dream Away" and the later reprise "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" are laid-back jazz-blues tracks which show the versatility of Jimi's guitar playing. "1983 . . . (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)" is a fantastic dreamy journey into another world. It is self-indulgent and is designed to take you away and it does so, with great effect. The song details a science fiction scenario of an apocalyptic war and the protagonist/Hendrix' desire to "take our last walk through the noise to the sea" with his female companion.
"House Burning Down" is a classic sizzling Hendrix track which really typifies the overtly aggressive Hendrix style. Finally, "All Along the Watchtower", written by Bob Dylan, highlights another aspect of Hendrix's work, where he really 'talks' emotion through his guitar. Hendrix's obsessive re-working of the song totally transformed it from a quiet acoustic ballad to a pyrotechnic display of Hendrix's guitar virtuosity. Dylan has described his reaction to hearing Hendrix's version: "It overwhelmed me, really. He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn't think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took license with the song from his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day" (Interview with Bob Dylan: 09/29/95, Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel). A great tribute indeed.
Details of credits for the album are as follows:
